Music touches Kenneth’s soul. As an adjunct professor in art, he feels that music is a necessary part of any curriculum that helps increase brain function and open mindedness.
Kenneth graduated from Columbia College with a degree in jewelry and a minor in painting. He is now the owner and operator of Monarch Jewelry on East Walnut Street, where he repairs jewelry, takes custom design orders, and designs his own original jewelry. He found the inspiration for his business name after Tribune Columnist Forrest Rose called him, “The Monarch of North Village.”
Aside from music, Greene volunteers as a tai chi instructor at the Armory Sports Center in downtown Columbia. He is also an avid martial artist who has studied jiu-jitsu, aikido, and karate. He also considers himself a dedicated baseball fan and history buff.
Kenny has been on the board since the creation of The Roots N Blues Foundation in January 2013.
