Mary Wilkerson describes herself as a “happy listener” of music. She finds that music is the greatest teacher, especially in a genre that includes vast amounts of history and culture. She believes that art in all forms is a critical structure in a child’s education.
After working as director of public relations for Stephens College, Mary joined the Central Bank of Boone County where she now serves as the Senior Vice President of Marketing. Additionally, she is a Certified Financial Marketing Professional, and is a member of the ABA Marketing Network Editorial Board. In 2005, she was awarded the University of Missouri College of Business Award of Excellence, the highest honor for a non-graduate. While working at the bank for over twenty-five years, she has been extremely involved in the Columbia community in a multitude of ways.
Mary is a lover of all things art, whether it be theatre, dance, or live music. She believes that music is a universal language that brings people together.
She initiated Boone County National Bank’s partnership with the Blues in the Schools program at Grant Elementary in 2007, and has served on the board since January of 2013.
